South Africa is preparing for cooperation with Turkiye in Defence Industry
The Republic of South Africa, one of Africa’s most developed countries in the defence industry, gave the green light to joint defence projects with Turkiye. Last week, 25 companies from Turkiye participated in the African Aviation and Defence Fair (AAD 2022), held at Waterkloof Air Base near Pretoria, the administrative capital of the country, and exhibited their products. Türkiye was also represented by the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) and his president Professor İsmail Demir.

South African company Paramount Group unveiled on 23 August the Marauder Mark 2 armoured, an improved version of the Marauder armoured personnel carrier (APC) by introducing a universal hull, interchangeable dashboard modules and steering wheel components. The company says Mark 2 is suitable for peacekeeping, border patrol, counter-insurgency or national defence.

Denel’s Hoefyster Project Near Cancellation
State-owned enterprise Denel is unable to complete Project Hoefyster for new Badger infantry combat vehicles for the South African (SA) Army due to insufficient capacity, and consequently, South Africa’s arms procurement agency Armscor has recommended the contract be cancelled, and the money is spent on Ratel infantry fighting vehicle upgrades.
