World Assisting Turkiye After Earthquakes
A state of emergency was declared in the region due to two major earthquakes in Turkiye on February 6, 2023, which affected ten provinces. Death toll from earthquake rises to 6,957 with 38,224 injured Turkiye. The World Health Organisation declared a “Level 3 Emergency”. Level 3 stands for the highest emergency, WHO’s agency-wide assets are called upon to be mobilised.

TUSAŞ’ ANKA UAV to be Produced in Kazakhstan
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) signed an export agreement with Kazakhstan for ANKA UAV last year. The contract required ANKA’s production in Kazakhstan. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between TUSAŞ and Kazakhstan Engineering (KE) company, they will produce ANKA UAV jointly in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan does not Recognise the Donetsk and Lugansk Decision
Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia recognised the independence of two Moscow-backed breakaway enclaves there that call themselves the Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic. Mukhtar Tileuberdi, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan stated that they would not recognise the decision.

Four modernised L-39s were handed over to Kazakhstan
The Kazakh Air Force received four overhauled L-39C aircraft from Aero Vodochody and OMNIPOL in October 2021, according to Aero Vodochody. The avionics were also updated as part of the overhaul. A Kazakhstani government group visited the two enterprises and discussed the expansion of their collaboration.

TUSAŞ Exported Three ANKA UAVs to Kazakhstan
In December of last year, Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) shipped the first national, original, and domestically developed aircraft to Tunisia, selling three ANKA UAV systems for approximately 80 million USD. In recent weeks, TUSAŞ made the first delivery to Tunisia. Following this announcement, TUSAŞ shipped its second ANKA to Kazakhstan.

Serial Production of Barys 6 × 6 Armoured Vehicles Started in Kazakhstan
Local enterprise Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering has mastered the production of a new armoured wheeled vehicle, “Barys 6 × 6”. Aibek Borisov - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company, on his Facebook page, recently announced starting of the serial production of the vehicle. According to the company, “Barys 6 × 6” is designed to protect mines, improvised explosive devices, side explosions. This is a Kazakh version of the Mbombe armoured car from the South African company Paramount.
