Switzerland’s House of Representatives gave final approval on Thursday to buy 36 Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II fighter jets. The decision allowed Bern to sign the purchase contract ahead of without waiting for a referendum on the $5.5 billion deal. The head of Switzerland’s armaments service has formally signed a procurement contract to buy three dozen F-35 fighter jets that will be delivered between 2027 and 2030.
