With over 100 upgrades, Uralvagonzavod provides the Army with improved T-90M and T-72B3Ms, therefore enhancing their efficacy even with losses in Ukraine.
Russia has sent its Army new batches of upgraded T-90M and T-72B3M tanks according to Oynx. These vehicles, which are now being used in the conflict in Ukraine, have over one hundred improvements added. Among these improvements are better armour for the engine and gearbox compartments and enhanced resistance against drones and electronic warfare weapons.
The most modern type in the T-90 line, the T-90M, can launch 9m119 Refleks anti-tank missiles. It also provides this capability, an encrypted digital communication system and a 125-millimeter smoothbore cannon.
Although it is widely regarded as the most competent tank in the Russian Army, it nevertheless has a design defect. This flaw is the vulnerability of its automatic loader, which leaves it open to catastrophic explosions if struck. Beginning in 2020, around 231 T-90Ms were produced or upgraded, although almost one hundred of them were either destroyed, damaged, or captured. The Russian Army continues to implement these enhancements to respond to the lessons learned from the field.
