The BTR-50 is a Soviet-tracked Amphibious Armoured Personnel Carrier (AAPC) based on the PT-76 light tank chassis. The Ministry of Defence has stated that Russia continues to deploy T-62 MBT, which has been in service for more than six decades.
Russian BTR-50 armoured personnel carriers, first deployed in 1954, have also been spotted in Ukraine for the first time in recent days. Since the summer of 2022, approximately 800 T-62s have been removed from storage, and some have received upgraded sighting systems.
