Turkish Otokar’s TULPAR Armoured Vehicle with Leonardo’s HITFACT MKII turret with 120 mm L45 gun was spotted the day before WDS, Saudi Arabia.

A photo of the vehicle fitted with the turret was shared by X (Twitter) user @NichoConcu. The joint development will be the first time a Turkish non-tank armoured vehicle is fitted with a 120 mm gun. The source of the photo is unknown. However, it is known that Otokar will unveil the platform with its new turret at the World Defence Show (WDS) in Saudia Arabia, which will start tomorrow in Riyad.

HITFACT MKII can be fitted with 120 mm L45 or 105 mm L52 guns and on tracked or wheeled land platforms. Leonardo’s HITROLE remote-controlled weapon station is integrated into the turret, providing secondary firepower.

The turret is in service with Italy’s Centauro II 8x8 mobile gun platform, forming a vital component of fire support in Italian Land Forces. HITFACT MKII was also integrated into Leopard 1 main battle tank as part of a modernisation package for Brazil. Greece also considered said integration for its own Leopard 1 main battle tanks.
