Defence Industry Agency’s (SSB) mortar modernisation project is at the delivery stage. The first modernised mortars were delivered to the Land Forces Command. The modernised 60 mm, 81 mm, and 120 mm mortars’ fire rates will be increased. Their CEP will be lower, and it will require fewer personnel.
The Mortar Modernisation Project is signed between the SSB and ASELSAN. The qualification and acceptance tests of the 60 mm commando mortar intelligent fire control system and the sub-component of the system, the ALRF-S50 laser rangefinder, the improvement of the 81 mm UT-1 bi-pod, and the new positioning system and the qualification and acceptance tests of the ALRF L-100 laser rangefinder, and the qualification and acceptance tests of the new positioning system for 120 mm mortars and the ALRF-L100 laser rangefinder were successfully completed.
