General Manager Engin Aykol signed the contract on behalf of Nurol Makina and ECDI President Magnus Saar on behalf of Estonia. Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler and the President of the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) of Türkiye, Professor Haluk Görgün also attended the contract ceremony.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Engin Aykol emphasized that Nurol Makina is one of the most competitive players in its class in the international market. Engin Aykol said that ECDI managed the tender process transparently and professionally to have the best-in-class 4x4 vehicle. He said he was proud to see NMS 4x4 emerge from this comprehensive tender process as the best vehicle in its segment.
Within the scope of the contract, the first vehicles will be delivered to the 2nd Infantry Brigade of the Estonian Defence Forces in 2024, and all deliveries will be completed within two years.
Nine companies from six countries participated in the tender process, which lasted approximately two years. NMS 4X4 was the vehicle that received the highest score due to price, performance and schedule evaluations. Estonia became Nurol Makina's second NATO and EU member user after Hungary.
