Czech Republic Buys Tatra 815-7 6X6 Truck

The contract was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defence by Lubor Koudelka and Deputy Director of Armament and Acquisition of Tatra Trucks by Petr Hendrych.

Two hundred vehicles will be delivered this year, and the remaining nine will be delivered in early 2023.

In the future, additional vehicles will be required to replace 640 of the current 928 trucks due to age.

Regarding the Tatra 815-7, this military truck has been in production since 2008 and is made in several variants ranging from 4X4, 6X6, 8X8 and 10X10 drive.

For specifications, the Tatra 815-7 is equipped with a Tatra T3C-928-90 V8 turbo diesel engine with a capacity of 12,667 cc, which produces 300 kW (402 hp).

The Tatra 815-7 is designed to be carried in the belly of a Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules or Airbus A400M Atlas -class military transport aircraft.

Based on the Tatra 815-7 chassis, it was used as the basis for the development of armoured fighting vehicles such as the Czech VEGA 4X4, the Egyptian Fahd 300, the Titus 6X6 made by France's Nexter, the Israeli Wildcat APC, the Jordanian Al-Wahsh, and the Nigerian Ara.
