According to local media in Sakarya, BMC has abandoned its investment in Karasu for the Altay Main Battle Tank. The information does not belong to BMC but rather to the area’s investors. In 2019, BMC began investing in a factory to produce the Altay Main Battle Tank and other armoured vehicles.

According to local media, Akgün Altuğ, the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO), met with local journalists. In response to a question about BMC and the future of the Karasu investment area, Altuğ relayed information he had received from BMC CEO Murat Yalçıntaş. Altuğ stated that SATSO invited Yalçıntaş to the assembly. He gave a speech to the members of SATSO in which he stated unequivocally that they had stopped investing in the area. The members of SATSO asked about the future of the land, and the answer was negative. They have no plans for the area, and if anyone is interested, they can sell it. Altuğ commented, “we do not know what will happen next, but we know that they gave up from investment.” According to Altuğ, BMC plans to make more investments at Arifiye. Arifiye and Karasu are the districts of Sakarya Province.

BMC’s factory’s construction in Karasu was halted after the company owner was changed. New owner Tosyalı Holding stopped the construction of the factory in the summer.
