Baykar’s KIZILELMA unmanned fighter completed a weapons test involving TOYGUN EOTS guiding ASELSAN’s TEBER-82 and ROKETSAN’s LGK-82 500 lb laser-guided bombs.
First munition guidance test with TOYGUN EOTS was completed on KIZILELMA unmanned fighter, using ASELSAN’s [BIST:ASELS] LGK-82 laser-guided bomb and ROKETSAN’s TEBER-82 laser/GNSS guided bomb. Static target designated by TOYGUN 100 EOTS was hit with both bombs.
The test carries significance in terms of proving KIZILELMA’s capability to perform stand-in strikes on its own using ASELSAN’s TOYGUN 100 EOTS, acting as the main air-to-surface sensor.
LGK-82 is a 500 lb class laser-guided bomb, identical to the Paveway line of the US in terms of layout. LGK-82 can reach a range of 12 km when launched from fighter jets. The laser guidance kit has been applied to NATO-standard MK-82 and Russian-standard FAB series of general-purpose bombs.
TEBER-82 is a hybrid guidance kit coupling laser guidance and GNSS guidance. It is available in three variants as baseline (Used in this test), stubby wing kit (Intended for slow-flying platforms), and extended-range wing kit. The range for baseline TEBER-82 is at 28 km for fighters, while this increases to 80 km with the extended-range wing kit derived from that of LAÇİN IIR guidance kit.
It is expected that KIZILELMA will proceed to weapon tests from internal bays after the external launch tests with the primary munition types. KIZILELMA’s internal bays will house air-to-air missiles and various air-to-surface munitions.
