Sweden and Finland will continue NATO negotiations with Turkiye

“I’m looking forward to constructive meetings with Turkey in the near future,” she said at a news conference with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.“Together with Sweden, we will do our homework and prepare for the questions Turkiye has,” Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto told reporters in Helsinki.Both countries applied to join NATO last month but were met with opposition from Turkiye, which accuses them of providing safe havens for the PKK terrorist organisation and wants them to lift an arms export ban.
