ROK’s MUAV reconnaissance aircraft to enter the production line soon
The Republic of Korea's (ROK) Defence Development Agency (ADD) said that it had completed the development of an unmanned reconnaissance aircraft dubbed the Medium Altitude Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (MUAV).

The ADD said serial production of MUAVs is scheduled for 2023, with the first aircraft to be delivered to the ROK Air Force in the fourth quarter of 2023 or in the first quarter of 2024.

The MUAV is a remote-controlled reconnaissance aircraft for medium to high altitude operations built in the country using indigenous technology.The design of the MUAV was completed by the aerospace company Korean Air, whose project began in 2013. This aircraft has a body length of 13 meters, a wingspan of 25 meters, and a height of 3 meters.

The MUAV has a 1,200 hp turboprop engine. The MUAV can fly to a maximum altitude of 13,000 meters and scan ground targets up to 100 kilometres away, with an endurance of more than 24 hours.
