Pakistan tested the Shaheen 1-A Surface-to-Surface Ballistic Missile
Pakistan completed a successful flight test of the Shaheen-1A surface-to-surface ballistic missile on Thursday. The army provided no technical information about the missile and the test.

"The test flight was intended to re-validate specific design and technical aspects of the missile system," the army explained in a statement.

Lieutenant General Nadeem Zaki Manj, Director General Strategic Plans Division; Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command; and strategic organisations' scientists and engineers witnessed the test.

The armed services successfully tested the nuclear-capable Shaheen 1-A medium-range ballistic missile in March. It had a 900-kilometre range.

The Shaheen-I is planned and built together by NESCOM and the National Defence Complex (NDC).
