Ukroboronprom is arming its Liutyi runway-based long-range kamikaze UAV with four UAV-191 turbojet-powered kamikaze UAVs to engage multiple secondary targets.
Ukroboronprom unveiled the Liutyi long-range kamikaze UAV in a new configuration that can carry four UAV-191 turbojet-powered loitering munitions to strike secondary targets during the FIA2026 exhibition.
Liutyi has been utilised as a runway-based long-range kamikaze UAV with a range of 2000 km, a cruise speed of 160 km/h, and a warhead between 50 kg and 150 kg.
The new configuration of Liutyi adds four hardpoints for UAV-191 loitering munitions using turboprop propulsion, capable of reaching a speed of 500 km/h and a range of 200 km.
Ukroboronprom also displayed various warhead options for Liutyi, including HEFW-40 and HEFW-50 HE-FRAG warheads and an HEFW-50EFP HE-FRAG warhead with an explosively formed penetrator.
Having loitering munitions with a considerable range can allow Liutyi to saturate or soften the target or attack opportunity targets along the way.
Russia employed this approach on a smaller scale with a Geran-2 kamikaze UAV fitted with a pair of FPVs.
Baykar's K2 kamikaze UAV to serve in a similar manner as Liutyi is also likely to get secondary munitions given its carrying capacity and it already being based on an armed UAV.
