MKE to Produce a Turbojet-Powered Munition and Its Engine TurDef

MKE included a turbojet-powered munition for long-range engagements in its 2025 activity report, the engine of which will be produced in the Samsun facility.

MKE is expanding its portfolio towards smart munitions, starting with the ENFAL-17 C-UAS missile. It conducted R&D work on a turbojet-powered munition in 2025, according to the activity report.

Not only the munition but also the turbojet engine will be produced by MKE, in the Samsun facility that also produces Mk80 GPB bodies.

No specifications have been given on the munition yet. So far, Türkiye has invested in various miniature-sized turbojet-powered munitions such as KEMANKEŞ 1 and 2 from Baykar and EREN for dual use from ROKETSAN. Additionally, KUZGUN TJ of TÜBİTAK SAGE and Mini Cruise Missile of ROKETSAN are the heavier types in development with considerable warhead size and flight speed comparable to cruise missiles.
