Indigenous Engine for BMC Vuran
Turkiye continues to indigenous engine studies. Turkish land vehicle manufacturer BMC’s Vuran 4X4 armoured vehicle will be equipped with a new, domestic engine in this line.

President of the Republic of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, published information about domestic military engine studies. BMC Vuran is has Cummins on board. It will be replaced with an indigenous engine. Another important milestone will be passed with this step.

Engine studies are seen as critical for the Turkish defence industry's capability leap. It is known that the Turkiye is experiencing issues with engine and propulsion system acquisition for platforms frequently. BMC established a subsidiary, BMC Power, for domestic engine studies. The company shared information about tactical armoured vehicle power systems recently. 400-HP engine completed 80,000 kilometres drive test. Another 600-HP power plant, named Azra, also passed 45,000 kilometres of road tests.
