TUSAŞ Visits Malaysia to Promote ANKA UAV

Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) General Manager Temel Kotil visited Malaysia. The visit became public as Kotil and his delegation weres seen at the Turkish Embassy Residence in Kuala Lumpur.

Kotil, Executive Vice President for UAV Systems Ömer Yıldız, Vice President for Corporate Marketing and Communications Serdar Demir, visited Turkey’s Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur Merve Kavakçı at her residence. The purpose of the visit is estimated as UAV systems as Mr Yıldız was included in the delegation. Malaysia has been closely interested in TUSAŞ’s ANKA-S Medium Altitude – Long Endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). A “Cooperation Agreement” was signed between TUSAŞ and Malaysia’s defence industry company DEFTECH - DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies on May 10, 2017, to meet Malaysia’s need for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems.

ANKA UAV was exhibited for the first time in the static area at LIMA (Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition) 2019, held in Langkawi Malaysia between 26-30 March 2019.

The Malaysian Defence Ministry had opened an international tender to supply three MALE-class UAVs for Royal Malaysian Air Force / RMAF. The U.S. General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper, Chinese CAIC Wing Loong, Italian Leonardo’s Falco and Turkish TUSAŞ ANKA UAVs were submitted to the tender.
