TUSAŞ carried out many joint studies with Pakistan in the academic field. In 2019, the company signed an agreement with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), within the framework of capacity building and human resource exchange. TUSAŞ opened an office in Pakistan"s first technopark, National Science and Technology Park and took steps to jointly develop new technologies for the future of the aviation ecosystem between Pakistan and Turkiye. TUSAŞ strengthened the cooperation between the two countries by undertaking 42 F-16 modernisation projects in 2009. It also signed an agreement with the Pakistan Armed Forces to export 30 T129 helicopters in the past years. This agreement did not materialise because the USA did not supply the helicopter engines, but it was not officially cancelled either.
