The Textron group announced that it had delivered the first of eight Beechcraft T-6C Texan II intended for the Tunisian Air Force. The Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract includes eight T-6C Texan II advanced military trainer aircraft, in-country field service, programme management support, training for pilots and maintenance professionals, engines and spare parts and support equipment.
The Beechcraft T-6C Texan II is designed and manufactured by Textron Aviation Defence LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. company.
Tunisia is the thirteenth country to receive the T-6 and has now received the 1,000th T-6 manufactured in Wichita. Textron Aviation Defence anticipates delivering the second T-6C to the Tunisian Air Force in late 2022. The remaining six planes will be delivered in 2023. The initial cadre of pilots began training on October 31 at Textron Aviation Defence facilities in Wichita, Kansas.
