Kayı is developed to use aerial vehicles. The system is a free-fall guided missile. Subcomponents of the system are fully domestic design, according to sources. Kayı can be equipped with anti-personnel, armour piercing or thermobaric warhead depending on the user's requirements. TÜBİTAK SAGE also developed a smart multiple ammunition rack for aerial vehicles. The new missile can be used with this rack in line with flexible integration advantage. The system has two variants, named Kayı 30 and Kayı 50. Kayı 30 weighs 30 kilograms and is 1000 mm long. The mass of the Kayı 50, which is 1300 mm long, is 50 kilograms. Stand-off systems can be effective at 25 kilometres, thanks to wing structure, depending on the carrier platform’s speed, altitude and environmental conditions.Smart mini munitions offer cost-effective solutions, especially for asymmetrical threats. This kind of system is cheap and light compared to similar missiles thanks to its non-complex structure and absence of a rocket motor. Turkiye gained a big experience with smart mini ammunition with studies and operational feedback from combat usage.
