The United Kingdom Cancels Additional A400M Acquisition
The United Kingdom wraps up additional A400M procurement plans. The budget constraints are the main reason for the decision.

London scrapped plans to acquire additional A400M Atlas C1 airlifters. The National Audit Office (NAO) published information about the decision in the “Equipment Plan 2022 to 2032” document. The report said, “An option to purchase additional A400M aircraft was assessed as unaffordable. Air Command is developing an affordable choice to improve A400M availability. Some funding is held centrally.”

The Royal Air Force (RAF) has an order for 22 aircraft. Platforms provide mid-tier airlift solutions to the RAF. The system serves between C-17A Globemaster III and C-130J Super Hercules in inventory.
