The Philippines Prefers BraHmos

Out of multiple alternatives, Philippine Navy has decided to acquire the Brahmos system from India for its Shore-based Anti-Ship Missile System acquisition Project. India and Russia jointly develop Brahmos, and currently features over 65-70% Indian components.

With this deal, the Philippines is set to become one of the few countries to have supersonic cruise missiles that can target both ships and surface targets.

The land-Based System consists of four to six Mobile Autonomous Launchers (MAL) controlled by a Mobile Command Post (MCP) and a Mobile Replenishmnet Vehicle (MRV). Three independent BrahMos Missiles placed in three independent containers are installed on the MAL. The missiles can be fired on three different targets or in various other combinations near simultaneously.
