T129 ATAK with Local IFF is in Inventory

Turkish Aerospace (TUSAŞ) delivered a new T129 ATAK Phase-II Attack Helicopter to the Turkish Armed Forces. The new helicopter has an electronic warfare pod, a locally produced IFF Mod-5 Friend/Foe Recognition/Identification System, and a 6-sensor Missile Warning System.


Turkish Defence Ministry stated on its Twitter account: “Another T-129 ATAK helicopter with Phase-2 configuration has been taken into the inventory of the Land Forces Command. Thus, the 58th ATAK helicopter of the Turkish Armed Forces was included in the inventory. The delivered helicopter was equipped with the National IFF Mod-5 Friend/Foe Recognition/Identification System and a 6-sensor Missile Warning System.”The Philippines and Nigeria have ordered six T129 ATAK each. While four helicopters were delivered to the Philippines, the first delivery to Nigeria is expected this year. The Philippines is expected to order six additional helicopters.
