RUAG modernised the fleet of TH98 Cougars. The value retention goal was to harmonise the Super Puma and Cougar transport helicopters. This will allow for more consistent and streamlined operational procedures and training.

The Swiss Air Force has operated the Cougar since 2001. Switzerland received twelve helicopters, ten of which were assembled at RUAG. This model is used in Switzerland for transport tasks, rescue missions and disaster relief.
