Siper at Final Fire Test Before Field Implementation

ASELSAN, Roketsan and TÜBİTAK-SAGE’s joint product, the long-range Siper missile and air defence system, has passed a significant milestone today. President of the Defence Industry Agency (SSB), Professor İsmail Demir, announced the development on his social media accounts.

For the first time, a relay vehicle and a Multifunctional Fire Control Radar were used in the integrated system level fire test of Siper Product-1, preparing to enter the inventory. In the previous test, a range of 100 km was reached with Siper, and the Low Altitude Radar was used in addition to the EIRS radar used in the first test.

The first test firing of Siper Block 0 was carried out in November 2021.

The Siper will be used against air-breathing targets, cruise missiles and air-to-ground munitions to meet the high-altitude air defence requirements of the Air Force. A contract was signed between the SSB and ASELSAN-ROKETSAN-TÜBİTAK SAGE Joint Venture on January 15, 2018, to develop the Siper system.
