Russia Presents a new generation smoke grenade at the Army-2022

General Director of TsNIITochmash, Oleg Morozov introduced a new RDG-U smoke grenade at Army-2022. The new RDG-U smoke grenade remains operational in the temperature range from minus 50 degrees Celsius to plus 55, an active concern for Russian armed forces.

The Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering, part of the Kalashnikov concern, designed the new grenade. The grenade has a composite material body to increase its strength and durability. It weighs 700 grams.

The new grenade intends to replace the old smoke grenades in service with the Russian army. Former grenades are designed in the 60s. The new grenade hopes to solve functional temperature-related operational problems.
