ROKETSAN’s UAV-230 Missile Makes Appearance in Sudan

The guidance section of ROKETSAN’s UAV-230 aeroballistic missile, available to AKINCI UCAV, has been recovered in Sudan, marking the first export use.

Sudanese sources have shared the footage showing the UAV-230 aeroballistic missile’s detached guidance section, which confirms an export user and combat deployment.

The guidance section also shows another detail, which is the fact that the revised version of UAV-230 was fired, which has slightly larger control fins and six fixed fins (Tested in 2024).

Another similarly interesting presence in Sudan was a TV seeker variant of either MAM-L or MAM-T, used to disable a Chinese-made FK-2000 air defence system operated by the terrorist organisation RSF.

UAV-230 is a development of ROKETSAN’s TRG-230 artillery rocket, adapted for airborne launch. First fired from AKINCI UCAV, UAV-230 is also planned to be integrated inside ANKA-III UCAV’s internal bays.

The aeroballistic missile with a 42 kg warhead can reach a range of more than 150 km and is guided by GNSS/INS navigation, but a laser seeker can be fitted as well.
