Roketsan Exports Sungur Low Altitude Air Defence Missile

Roketsan, a Turkish state defence manufacturer of rockets and missiles, is preparing to export the Sungur Low Altitude Air Defence Missile to Nigeria, according to defence backstage. The system is expected to deliver with a pedestal mounted on BMC Vuran armoured vehicle.

Roketsan was established in 1988 to produce the FIM-92 Stinger man-portable air-defence system (MANPADS) rocket engine. Sungur offers enhanced capabilities thanks to its longer range and IIR guidance than similar systems. Nigeria is investing in the army to increase its capabilities and modernise its arsenal. Turkiye and Nigeria have developed close relations on defence programs recently.
