ROK to Double FA-50 Fighting Eagle Production

According to local news, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) aims to meet the demand for the light combat aircraft FA-50. The FA-50 is assembled at KAI's production site for Poland and Thailand.
The aircraft won a tender in Malaysia against Turkish Aircraft Hürjet. KAI is currently marketing the FA-50 to European, Asian, Middle Eastern, and even the United States markets with the hope of signing a contract with the US Air Force (USAF) and US Navy (US Navy) in case Boeing/Saab T-7A Red Hawk project fails to fulfil programme on time.
The FA-50 was initially developed for the Republic of Korea Air Force (RoCAF). The aircraft has a glass tandem cockpit that can carry a crew of two. It is a light fighter version of the T-50 Golden Eagle supersonic advanced trainer jet. The aircraft might be armed with AIM-9 Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missiles and AGM-65 Maverick tactical air-to-ground missiles.
