Rheinmetall Receives an order for Crows Programme
The five-year framework agreement could result in tens of millions of dollars in new orders for Rheinmetall. It allows for the delivery of precision subsystems such as high-resolution, image-stabilised electro-optical sensors (day cameras), weapon mounts, and other critical assemblies in the future. American Rheinmetall Systems integrates intelligent systems of the future into ground vehicles and reconnaissance platforms.Armed forces can engage targets in motion or stationary with pinpoint accuracy at any time of day or nite using CROWS systems. They have a daylight camera, a thermal imager, and a laser range finder. In 17 years, Kongsberg has delivered over 23,000 CROWS systems to 26 countries worldwide. Since 2008, American Rheinmetall Systems has supplied supporting subsystems and has performed thousands of repairs, maintenance, and upgrades on in-service systems.
