Mechanical and Chemical Industry Company (Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi Kurumu/MKEK) announced from its Twitter account the lighter version of MPT-76 (7,62X51) The new version has MH letters on the mark. H stands for "Hafif" which means "lightweight". The new rifle is approximately 500 grams lighter than the previous version. The MH version will be more suitable for patrol missions.
Such a weapon can be produced lighter or heavier depending on the mission requirements. Every weight has different advantages and disadvantages for missions.
