LM to Prepare Spanish Navy’s MH-60 Romeo Submarine Hunters
The Spanish Navy has ordered eight Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawks for its anti-submarine (ASW) helicopter fleet. Lockheed Martin will manufacture helicopters.

Spanish Navy (Armada) already maintains 12 SH-60Bs and eight SH-60Fs, the latter being purchased second-hand from the U.S. The eight Romeos on order will most probably replace the last of 18 Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King helicopters. The manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, got a related contract of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) for 379 million dollars, but this is not the final price but an extension of previous agreements, which will run until March 2027. The full cost is estimated at up to $950 million, including weapons such as Hellfire missiles, APKWS rockets, cannons, and other equipment and services.
