According to the official statement, the visit was “dedicated to security and policy issues, and aimed at fostering defence co-operation between the countries.” During the visit, the Minister met with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, with his counterpart, the Minister of Defence, Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgaroglu, and the Chief of State Border Service, Colonel General Elcin Guliyev.According to Israeli media, Israel’s developing ties with Turkiye were also discussed.
