India’s First C295 Aircraft Completes Maiden Flight
India’s first Airbus C295 transport aircraft completed its maiden flight with the aim of its delivery by the second half of 2023.

Airbus’ medium tactical transport aircraft took off from Seville, Spain, on the 5 May and landed after three hours of flight. Indian Air Force (IAF) acquired 56 C295 aircraft in September 2021 to replace the AVRO fleet.

The first 16 aircraft will be built in Seville, Spain, and delivered to the customer in ‘fly-away’ condition. The following 40 aircraft will be constructed and assembled in India by Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) as part of the two firms’ industrial collaboration.
