TUSAŞ’s Hürjet took off from Mürted Airfield Command runaway early this morning and flew for approximately 40 minutes. Escorted by an F-16 fighter jet, the aircraft completed its maiden flight and landed to the same runaway.
The aircraft flew with landing gear down. This is a standard precaution against any unexpected landing gear failure. The aircraft will perform its following flights in a similar method until the following flight windows provide the safety of retracting landing gears.
This is the technical flight before the official maiden flight, which will be performed on May 1st.
