The rotorcraft will have a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 13 tonnes, a main rotor with five blades, and a tail rotor with four blades. The maritime version will also have a greater range and payload capacity. HAL estimates that over 314 rotorcraft of the same class will be required to replace the existing Mil Mi-17 and Mil-8 helicopters in service in India.
