Turkish-British defence relations are developing rapidly, and a new step will be taken. Shapps and Güler will meet to discuss bilateral and regional issues as well as defence industry cooperation. The Typhoon EF-2000 acquisition is expected to be one topic on the discussion table. Signing a letter of intent is also part of meetings. Two sides are expected to make a press declaration about the purpose of the visit and declare the content of the letter of intent, but TurDef has learned that the name of Eurofighter will not be mentioned as the two sides are looking for even wider defence industry cooperation. The meeting may lead both sides to cooperate deeper and more frequently on military drills as well.
