Boeing and Airbus Join Forces to Compete for the UK Helicopter Contract
The move comes as Britain looks to replace its ageing fleet of twin-engined medium transport helicopters, the Puma HC Mk2. The two plane makers did not reveal the contract size they were bidding for in a joint statement.The companies stated that if Airbus" offer to build a military version of its H175M super-medium helicopter is accepted, Boeing Defence UK will provide aircrew, ground crew, and maintenance training.
