Biden Approves $13.6 billion aid to Ukraine

President Joe Biden signed a $1.5 trillion bill on Tuesday that funds federal operations through September and offers billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine as it battles a Russian incursion. To avoid a government shutdown, Washington needed to pass a spending plan by the end of the day.

The package provides $13.6 billion in aid to Ukraine, part of a more prominent US, more considerable to strengthen Ukrainian defences, hamper Russia's economy, and assist civilians displaced by the fighting. The funds will be used to purchase defensive military equipment and training and provide assistance to Ukrainian refugees both within Ukraine and in neighbouring countries.

" We’re moving further to augment support to the brave people of Ukraine as they defend their country,” Biden said before signing the law on Tuesday. He went on to say that the United States will be " better positioned to provide for the rapidly growing humanitarian need of the Ukrainian people."
