AVIC Publishes Next-Generation Aircraft Concept
China accelerates modern aircraft studies. State-owned AVIC (Aviation Industry Corporation of China) published a next-generation concept.
The first and most significant feature of computer-generated content is tailless design. The aircraft looks like a J-20 fighter, but it can bee is seen that there is no canard and empennage structure. Diamond-shaped fuselage seems to have a blended wing-body configuration, and the aircraft might be the next generation fighter of China. AVIC also showcased another tailless design at the Air Show China 2022.Tailless design improves radar-cross section features of aircraft as no structure erecting from the fuselage. When combined with a diamond shape, preferences will provide superior all-around stealth performance capability. The structure provides higher lift, longer range and lower fuel consumption. On the other hand, no additional flight control interface means low manoeuvrability if other components, such as thrust vectoring or split brake rudders.
