Australia Gets $975 million worth HIMARS

U.S. will sell $975 million worth of HIMARS to Australia as State Department gives green light.

The State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale ‘(FMS) to Australia of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and related equipment for an estimated cost of $975 million. 
The Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.
Australia has requested to buy up to 22 M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 60 M30A1 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Alternative Warhead (AW) Pods with Insensitive Munitions Propulsion System (IMPS), 24 M31A2 ER GMLRS Unitary (HE) Pods. The estimated total program cost is $975 million.
