Antonov's first "Russian- free" serial production An-178 on schedule

Antonov signed a contract for the construction and supply of three new An-178-100Rs. At the beginning of February this year, the company began preparations for the assembly of the first of these aircraft's fuselage. The airship will be the first serial production without Russian units.

Ukraine based ArmyInform visited the unit assembly shop. More than 20 Ukrainian companies are participating in the import substitution program and foreign partners, who will mainly supply part of the avionics for this aircraft.

As the director of the An-148 program and its modifications, Viktor Kazurov said that assembling the first fuselage is proceeding according to schedule. Almost all its components, particularly the fuselage, wing, tail, will be built at the production facilities of SE "Antonov". While other domestic manufacturers involved in production cooperation will supply for these aircraft such critical units as engines (JSC "Motor Sich" and SE "Ivchenko-Progress"), chassis (SE "Pivdenmash"), brake wheel (LLC "Hydrobest"), Management system (STC" Screen ", PJSC" FED "). According to Viktor Mykolayovych, a total of more than 20 Ukrainian companies and foreign partners are participating in the import substitution program, which will mainly supply part of the avionics for this aircraft.
