Pakistan’s Third Babur Class Corvette to be Launched on Friday
Turkish Defence Ministry’s company ASFAT will launch Pakistan’s third Babur Class corvette PNS KHAIBAR (282), on Friday. The launching ceremony will be held at Istanbul Naval Shipyard. The ship was laid down on May 2021. Pakistan Navy signed a $1.5 billion deal in 2018 to acquire four PN Milgem vessels from Turkiye. ASFAT is the main contractor of the project. The ships are heavier and larger than the Turkish Ada-class corvette and are also equipped with VLS.
