Greek Navy wants to acquire new frigates to modernise its fleet. It is known that seven company have provided their solution. US-based Lockheed Martin has proposed its Multi-Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC). The publication claimed that the government asked the company to build the ships in France and name them in French: MMSC Helleniques. Naval Analyses claims that Greek people believe in Russian and French vessels. The Greek government wants to accept Lockheed Martin’s proposal. To receive public support, the government asks the US company to build frigates in France.
Lockheed Martin has already proposed arming the frigate with French Exocet anti-ship missile.
