U.S. Defence Contractors Want Deeper Cooperation with Taiwan

On Wednesday, a delegation of U.S. defence contractors and a former senior US Marine Corps (USMC) officer pledged the start of more robust cooperation with Taiwan.
China has increased its pressure on Taiwan, which it claims the territory. Speaking at a public discussion in Taiwan's capital Taipei, retired Lt. Gen. Steven Rudder stated that the U.S. wants to be a part of Taiwan's defence capabilities and increase the island's supply chain resilience. He also stressed the importance of the island's location in terms of security.
Members of the United States Congress have urged the Biden administration to follow through on over $19 billion in military sales items that have been approved but have yet to be delivered to Taiwan.
