TUSAŞ Delivers Two T129 ATAK Helicopters to Nigeria

Nigeria had ordered six T129 ATAK Attack and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopters from TUSAŞ. TUSAŞ delivered the first two units of this order. Thus, Turkiye exported T129 ATAK to Nigeria after the Philippines. The remaining delivery of the T129 ATAK order is planned to be completed in the second quarter of 2024.

Recently, a delegation, including the Nigerian Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, visited Turkiye and brought up the helicopter delivery.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, the Air Force spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, quoted the CAF Air Marshal Abubakar, saying the service has taken delivery of two out of six T129 ATAK helicopters. He said the helicopters would soon be inducted into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) inventory.
