Turkish MFA Becomes First Step for Defence Export
Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) will discuss adding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to the export licence process.

Deputies from the government submitted a law proposal to the TBMM to add the Ministry to the process. The proposal includes an amendment in the Law on the Inspection of Warfare Equipment and Industrial Organizations Producing Weapons, Ammunition and Explosives which determines all kinds of war tools and equipment, weapons, ammunition and their spare parts and explosive materials defined in the annual lists can be exported or taken abroad. If accepted, for the export of defence material, the opinion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be asked as the first step. The Ministry of National Defence may allow export if MFA gives the authorisation.
