Turkish Defence Ministry (MSB) plans to initiate the “Turkish Type Fast Attack Craft” (FAC) Project.

The Ministry published its performance report for 2022 and its future fleet plans for the Navy. According to the paper, the Turkish Navy will receive Turkish Type Fast Attack Craft (TTHB). The Ministry says that the project is dealt with under the responsibility of the Defence Industry Agency (SSB), and it will have three phases; Contract design, prototype construction and construction of remaining FACs.

The Ministry’s document does not mention any specific design, but the shared design resembles STM Defence’s “Multi-Purpose Attack Craft” (MPAC).

The MPAC is a monohull platform designed to perform anti-surface (ASuW) and anti-air warfare (AAW) along with patrol duties in shallow waters (20 kn cruise speed) and open seas (1100 nm range) under heavy sea conditions. The platform with 620-ton Displacement will operate at high speeds (Max 40+kn) according to its hull form and main propulsion system configuration.
