Swiss Components Found on Russian Verba MANPADS Missile
The Russian defence industry has reportedly integrated Swiss company Traco Power’s electronic components into the 9K333 Verba surface-to-air missile.

According to the Ukrainian Defence Ministry website Militarnyi, the Verba Portable Air Defence System (MANPADS) missile uses a Swiss company’s power converter in its multispectral optical heat seeker. The website reports this claim regarding anonymous specialists of the Defence Forces.

A power converter was discovered in the optical three-band homing head of the 9M336 missile. The triple-spectral multi-platform heat search system can operate in the ultraviolet, near-infrared and mid-infrared ranges. It is claimed that these components have played an essential role in improving the performance of autonomously guided missiles.

The Verba MANPADS is a fourth-generation Russian man-portable infrared homing adopted by the Russian army in 2014.
